Blood Donation Day at Bureau

In response to the call from the Ministry of Health and the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau has organized a blood donation campaign. As part of the campaign, the Bureau staff donated blood to the patients of the Iashvili Children's Central Hospital.

Disinfection works carried out at Bureau

In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, in accordance with recommendations of Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau carries out cleaning and disinfection of work spaces and corridors on a daily basis. The personnel of the service center serve customers with special equipment (veil, gloves and glasses). Primary disinfectant solution and other protective hygienic means are placed in all entrances and floors of the office. Disinfection works are carried out in all Bureau offices. It is important for the Bureau that each employee feels protected while on the job.

Forensic Bureau Moves to an Emergency Mode of Operation

LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau moves to an emergency mode of operation due to Covide-19 pandemic. Due to declaration coronavirus outbreak as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization and in accordance with the recommendations made public by the Government of Georgia, from 1 April 2020 National Forensic Bureau will provide alcohol test only by blood analysis.

The Unit of Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology at the Department of Chemical and Narcological Examination of Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau, participated in the proficiency testing organized by European Directorate for The Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM), STRASBOURG. In December 2019, the National Forensic Bureau received a sample for analysis from the working group of Standardization Department, Strasbourg. Specifically, "NALIDIXIC ACID TABLETS", along with the corresponding standard sample and Pharmacopoeial method were provided for the professional testing. The purpose of the testing was to do quantitative estimation of pharmacologically active ingredient component of these tablets - nalidixic acid - by liquid-chromatographic / diode detection method and to statistically process the obtained data. Samples were sent to 132 laboratories in Europe to participate in the test, of which results were obtained from 117 laboratories.
