EU representative visited the Bureau

On January 23, 2019, Deputy Head of the EU funded project “Support to the Fight against Organised Crime” Asen Yanchev was hosted by deputy head of LEPL - Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau Giorgi Murvanidze

Asen Yanayeev visited laboratories of the Bureau equipped with ultra-modern technologies, got acquainted with introduced innovations and the specification of the functioning of the Bureau. Within the frame of cooperation EU representative expressed readiness to support the Bureaus experts in international trainings programs.

Bureau success in the international proficiency test

In November 2018, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau examination unit of food, Tobacco, alcohol and non-alcoholic Beverages participated in proficiency testing program. The organizer was an accredited proficiency testing provider PHENOVA. The aim of tests was to determine quantitative content of toxic metals in the sample of drinking water. Analysis was carried out on identification of 10 types of metals.

Test results were announced in December, 2018. According to the presented reports, Bureau experts have determined the quantitative content of all 10 metals, hence 100 % excellent results were received.

​Donation to aid children suffering from leukemia

On December 12, 2018, Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau staff donated blood for children suffering from leukemia.
The Bureau has been actively involved in donors promotion for several years, with the help of "Blood Bank" of M. Iashvili Clinic and will continue to help children with leukemia in the future.

Success of the Oil Laboratory of the Bureau

In June 2018, oil examination laboratory of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau  successfully completed the International Qualification Test certified by the Institute of Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) of the Netherlands and received a Certificate of Excellence. 

IIS is an independent organization, which conducts interlaboratory studies in various fields (certificate tests, cross checks, joint control) for analytical laboratories of more than 100 Member States. 
IIS submitted an unknown sample of engine oil, which was determined by ISO 17025 accredited parameters specified in the international standards: acid and base number by potentiometric, color, density, flash point in open and closed cups, foam tendency/ stability, kinematic viscosity at 40/100C, viscosity index, apparent viscosity at -30C, pour point.
