In October 2020, Oil Products Examination Unit at the Department of Chemical and Narcological Examination, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau participated in a proficiency testing.
The testing was organized by the Institute For Interlaboratory Studies, Netherlands (IIS), which is an independent organization providing various types of interlaboratory studies (qualification tests, cross-examination, joint control) for analytical laboratories in more than 100 participating countries.
The Institute for Interlaboratory Studies (IIS) provided an unknown sample of hydraulic oil which should have been identified with 10 parameters according to the indicated standards: acid number, copper corrosion, density, closed cup flash point, foaming tendency and foam stability, kinematic viscosity at 40 °C and at 100 °C, viscosity index, temperature of solidification.
