Through cooperation among LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and, remains of another seven civilians killed in August War have been transferred and identified. The remains were handed over to their families today.

LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau has identified 12 remains of soldiers fallen heroically in Abkhazia in fights for territorial integrity of Georgia. Georgian soldiers will be buried with military funeral honors at the Dighomi Brothers’ Cemetery on 16 March, 2019. The identification process of remains of heroes was launched in September 2013 with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and continues to this day.

​In November 2018, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau examination unit of food, Tobacco, alcohol and non-alcoholic Beverages participated in proficiency testing program. The organizer was an accredited proficiency testing provider PHENOVA. The aim of tests was to determine quantitative content of toxic metals in the sample of drinking water. Analysis was carried out on identification of 10 types of metals.
