Qualification Test

In July 2014, Food and Tobacco Products, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Examination Unit received qualification test results. Experts of the Food laboratory examined three different samples and identified micro-organisms. 

Within the framework of the test, the participating experts of the Bureau also identified five different micro-organisms in a sample of the drinking water and registered their quantity. 
More than 100 laboratories from across the world participated in the given qualification test, which was organized by support of the National Food Agency and Swedish National Food Agency.

On July 1, 2014, Department of Forensic Medicine of the Bureau hosted Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Carol Perez and Head of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) office at the US Embassy to Georgia, Aaron Fishman. 

Head of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, Giorgi Tvauri held a visit with the US delegation and offered a tour around a newly renovated Administrative building and modernly equipped laboratories. 
During the meeting, the sides discussed ongoing cooperation between the Bureau and the International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Affairs office at the US Embassy, ongoing issues and upcoming plans.

The Overseas Security Advisory Council of the US Embassy visits the Bureau

On June 25, 2014, Heads of Forensic Departments of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau met with the representatives of the Overseas Security Advisory Council of The Diplomatic Security Service of the US Embassy to Georgia.

The meeting aimed at sharing information about introduced methodologies and qualifications of the Bureau. Representatives of the Bureau presented modernly equipped laboratories of the Bureau and briefed guests about principles of their operation. 
The meeting was initiated by US consulate. 
The Bureau is accredited by ISO/IEC 17025 and is the leading forensic institution in the region. It operates more than 400 kinds of expertise and its compliance with international standards is a guarantor of the consistently accurate results. 

6th International Scientific-Practical Conference on Forensic Medicine

On June 21, 2014, a Sixth Scientific-Practical Conference on Forensic Medicine was co-organized by the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau at the Tbilisi State Medical University. The Conference focused on Forensics Medicine, including Medical Anthropology, Forensic Entomology, Forensic Histology and pathological anatomy. 

The Conference is organized on annual basis by Tbilisi State Medical University and Georgian Forensic Medical Association.
40 experts of the Bureau participated in the conference along with representatives of Forensic Medicine from across the world. 
Participants were awarded with Conference Certificates.
