Doctor and lawyer by profession, he graduated from the Academician Egnate Pipia Tbilisi Medical Institute, with a degree in general medical practice and graduated from Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University, Faculty of Arts and Humanities with a degree in law. He started his career in 1999 as an assistant to the medical examiner at International Forensic Fund "Medea".
In 2002-2003 he was a main specialist at forensic-medical biological unit, Forensic and Special Examination Center of Ministry of Justice, In 2004 he continued his career at LEPL – Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, at first as the head of Forensic Criminalistics Department and later in 2006-2009 he became the head of Medical Forensic Department. Since 2010 he has been the First Deputy Head of the Bureau.
