Statement of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau

LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau makes statement, following the comments on TV Pirveli program "Reaction" on May 10, regarding the forensic medical examination of Archil Tatunashvili. 

Firstly, death of Archil Tatunashvili is a tragedy for every expert of the Bureau as it is for the citizens of Georgia. 
We would like to give explanations regarding the examination procedures. The public has been frequently interested, especially in resonance cases, regarding the absence of “primary” or "intermediate" medical examination reports.

Bureau participated in the international conference

On April 2018, Head of Biological Forensics Department of Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau Nino Kochiashvili, was invited to the CODIS (DNA-Database) Conference and ENFSI Expert DNA Working Group in Italy, Rome. 

The meeting was hosted by the Department of Security of the Republic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Italy.  165 DNA experts from 37 countries attended the conference.

On March 29-30, 2018 Head of Forensic Chemistry Department of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau Paata Tushurashvili, deputy head of the above mentioned department Dodo Chorgolashvili and head of Food, Alcohol and Non-alcohol Beverages Examination Unit Maia Gonashvili and forensic expert from the same division Tamar Aptsiauri participated in the International Conference organized by the German Metrology Institute (PTB) in Tbilisi.
