Success of the Oil Laboratory of the Bureau

In June 2018, oil examination laboratory of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau  successfully completed the International Qualification Test certified by the Institute of Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) of the Netherlands and received a Certificate of Excellence. 

IIS is an independent organization, which conducts interlaboratory studies in various fields (certificate tests, cross checks, joint control) for analytical laboratories of more than 100 Member States. 
IIS submitted an unknown sample of engine oil, which was determined by ISO 17025 accredited parameters specified in the international standards: acid and base number by potentiometric, color, density, flash point in open and closed cups, foam tendency/ stability, kinematic viscosity at 40/100C, viscosity index, apparent viscosity at -30C, pour point.

Tajik delegation visited the Bureau

On November 6, 2018, the delegation from Republic of Tajikistan visited LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau. Among the members of the delegation were Chairman of American Bar Association of Tajikistan and inter-agency task forces (Parliament, President Administration, Bar Association, Supreme Court, Ministry of Justice, Prosecuters’office, Anti-corruption Agency, Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Center for Legislation associated with President of Tajikistan). 

The visit aimed to get acquainted with the working standards of the Bureau, sharing experience and recommendations for the optimization of anti-corruption legislation in the Republic of Tajikistan.

November 4 – Forensics Day

On November 4, 2018 LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau marked the Forensics Day.  Traditionally, on the day the best experts are granted respective awards.

LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau is the only forensic organization across region accredited according with international standards, where among many expertize, the following important examinations are carried out: DNA, paternity determination, breast cancer and genetic thrombophilia studies, construction-engineering expertise,  immovable property assessment examination, narcological, drug analyses , food, drink and tobacco expertise, computer, oil examination etc.

International Training for DNA Experts

On 29th-30th of October, 2018, the training for DNA experts on theoretical and practical innovations in DNA research was held in laboratory of forensic biology department.

Official representatives of one of the leading companies in the world, QIAGEN Mirilla Perucho and Paul Redhead provided training to experts of Bureau in the field of human DNA Identification and Forensic examination Research.
During the course of practical demonstration, the company representatives presented the latest reagent kits that have been tested in the leading laboratories across the world, which enables effective DNA analysis of the quantitative and qualitative assessment obtained from the inhibited and degraded materials. Recently implemented improved kits for genetic identification of human biological material and the software systems developed for analysis of the individual research stages were one of the issues of the discussion.
