Asmat Matushevskaya, an expert of the Video, Phonoscopic and Habitoscopic Examination Unit of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau, participated in an international online conference on phonoscopic examination.

At the workshop current issues in the field of phonoscopy were discussed, which are related to the development of forensics and its contemporary requirements.

Recently, there has been a growing demand for determining the authenticity and speaker verification in digital recordings. New research methods and forensic programs are being actively introduced and developed along with the training of experts. Bureau experts are constantly involved in keeping abreast of news and sharing experience with ENFSI member institutions.

Representatives from 73 countries attended the meeting. The presentations were made by experts from Germany, Italy, England, Poland and Sweden. The presentations were devoted to the challenges and innovations in the field of audio recording research.

The meeting also focused on the expert's working environment and technical equipment, validation issues, inter-laboratory proficiency testing, which is an important and necessary condition for ensuring the quality of forensic research.
