
Representatives of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau hosted Konstantinos Athanasiadis, an expert assessing the capabilities and compliance of Georgian laboratories. The expert was visiting Georgia within the framework of the second stage of the implementation of the EU Association Agreement.
The meeting was held at the Forensic Engineering Department of the Bureau, where representatives of the department introduced the EU expert with the capabilities of the laboratory of the Unit of Normative, Technical and Experimental Studies and provided detailed information on the accredited areas.
It should be noted that the National Forensic Bureau is one of the first organizations in Georgia accredited with European standard. The introduction of the standard into the laboratory began in 2012 and, nowadays, it fully meets international requirements.
In accordance with the requirements of European standards, it is also planned to expand the scope of forensic engineering activities soon.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Athanasiadis promised to support the Bureau in the process of equipping/upgrading Laboratories.
