Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer “ICAP DUO 7400” has been installed and launched in the Bureau.
The ICAP DUO 7400 Spectrometer provides fast and efficient determination of the complete elemental composition of various samples. The device is equipped with dual plasma vision, which allows to detect at least 70 elements simultaneously (range of detection 1 ppb).
The ICAP DUO 7400 Spectrometer is equipped with a special GE IsoMist cooled spray chamber for handling organic samples. By the method of direct scattering, the kit enables the identification of a full range of metals in motor and aviation oils, jet fuels, middle distillates, crude oil, used and new oils, which is especially important for organic solvents and flammable petroleum products.
The device also has a hydride system, which allows the analysis of mercury, arsenic, antimony, selenium and bismuth in food and biological samples (range of detection 1 ppb). The introduction of this device allows the implementation of modern methods for determining the quantitative content of chemical elements in drinking water, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as in food products in accordance with international standards.
In the field of examination of materials and goods, it is possible to identify all the elements for the quality control of various types of alloys, including phosphorus, and such standardized migrating elements in toys as lead, cadmium, silver and others. (Range of detection 1 ppb).
Currently, new methods are being introduced for verification of objects such as glass, perfumery, ceramics, ore, soil, geological samples and others.
Prior to launching the device, the experts of the Department of Chemical and Narcological Examination of the Bureau successfully passed the training provided by certified trainers of the manufacturer and received relevant certificates.
