On May 22-24, 2018, Annual International Conference of Drugs Working Group organized by the European Network of Forensic Institutions (ENFSI) was held in Portugal, city of Lisbon. The main topic of discussion at the conference was extension of new narcotic and psychoactive substances on the black market of Europe.
More than 100 of experts form leading laboratories of Europe attended the conference. Paata Tushurashvili, head of Forensic Chemistry Department of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau presented a case of GHB poisoning in Georgia at the conference.
The ENFSI DWG group is actively working on developing and implementing of new identification methods and establishing quantitative contents of new drugs and psychoactive substances in Europe.
The European Network of Forensic Institutions (ENFSI) is the most authoritative international organization in the forensic field, recognized by the European Union as a monopolist in this area. Since 2011, National Forensics Bureau of Georgia has been full member of ENFSI.
