Head of the Bureau will participate in Forensics Europe Exposition

On April 29-30, a two day international exposition opens in London, UK. Head of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli Forensics National Bureau is invited with a special guest status to the exposition. Forensics Europe Exposition is organized on annual basis in London, UK and is attended by representatives of leading companies from across the world. 

The exposition will exhibit the latest equipment for DNA and digital examinations (audio-video, computer examinations).
LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau is following the latest technological developments of the field. Participating in similar expositions is highly important to secure up to date services of the Bureau.

On behalf of the Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, I am privileged to open the 38th ENFI DNA Working Group Meeting. I herein extend my heartfelt greetings to all of you and since ENFSI DNA Working Group Meeting is held in Georgia for the first time, I hope, the conference will be productive and interesting, and that the Georgian experience will be gratifying for each of you. 

I deem, we all share the same position when we signify the importance of DNA Laboratory in the work of criminalistics regardless its complexity or long examinations. National Forensics Bureau, along with its partners and ENFSI members, reconfirms its commitment towards improving quality and credibility.  
We have gathered here today to acknowledge experience, share information on latest scientific achievements, modern DNA examination methods and their practical utilization in ENFSI member laboratories. Such a conference is key for decision making and advice, for recommendations and preventing misconduct. 

The Bureau has acquired a Ballistic Examination Complex

In April, 2014, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau has acquired a Ballistic Examination Complex – DRELLO. 

The equipment is used to test firearms and ammunition and identify their indicators/characteristics. 
The equipment will provide an opportunity to examine and test faulty weapons from distance by a remote control panel and secure the safety of experts. 
At the same time, the equipment makes it possible to conduct a thorough examination of the ammunitions, including the evaluation of the bullet speed. 

DNA Conference for first time in Georgia

On April 23, 2014, the 38th DNA Conference was opened in Georgia. The Conference is organized by Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau and the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI). It is the first time for Georgia to hosts such high level conference of the field. The Conference is attended by 120 representatives of forensics institutions from across the world. 

Head of the Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, Giorgi Tvauri opened the Conference at which the participants discussed the latest achievements in the DNA field. Presentations mainly focused the Forensic Biology field. 
European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) is the most authoritative and credible organization in the forensic domain. It unites 65 forensics institutions of 35 countries across Europe.
