Students of the Medical University at the DNA Lab of the Bureau

In June 2014, Forensic Biology Department of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau hosted students of the Tbilisi State Medical University.

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Bureau and the University, the students had an induction tour at the DNA laboratory of the Bureau.

Georgian and foreign students of the Tbilisi State medical University, USMD Program, received training in methods of DNA molecular examination.

National Forensics Bureau regularly cooperates with the Medical University within the framework of the Memorandum and plans to continue the cooperation in the future.

On 8-13 June, 2014, Head of the Information Technology and Computer Examination Department of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, Roland Makhmudov participates in the training seminar, jointly organized by HP and UGT in the Halkidiki Island, Greece.

Representatives of public and private IT departments of Georgia participated in the seminar.

National Forensic Bureau considers participation in similar training seminars highly important to further advance its IT services.

On June 10, 2014, LEPL Levan Samkharauli Forensic Bureau hosted a delegation of the Forensics Center of Armenia. Head of the Bureau, Mr. Giorgi Tvauri met with the Head of the Armenian Forensics Center, Mr. Mger vardanyan and introduced modernly equipped laboratories of the Bureau.

Within the framework of the study visit, the Armenian colleagues visited departments of forensic engineering and forensic medicine.

Head of the National Forensics Bureau, Giorgi Tvauri and Head of the Forensics Center of Armenia, Mger Vardanyan discussed plans of cooperation and concrete action plans.

On June 3-7, 2014, Deputy Head of the Chemical-Narcotics Department of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, Dodo Chorgolashvili participated in the ENFSI European Textile and Hair Group meeting in Dusseldorf, Germany. The meeting is organized by Landeskriminalamt North Rhine-Westphalia.

During the meeting, the participants discussed modern methods and novelties in fiber examination. The meeting also envisages a training session for its participants.
