In March of 2014, the medical journal "Georgian Medical News" published two scientific articles: "The impact of hereditary thrombophilia in the population of Georgia, the risk of repeated venous thromboembolism" and "inherited thrombophilia and the risk of developing proximal and diastolic deep vein thrombosis in the population of Georgia" which were co-authored by the Head of the Forensic Biology Department, Nino Kochiashvili and experts Nino Phirtskhelani, also a grant manager, and Ketevan Kartvelishvili.

Bureau offered an induction course to students

On March 20, 2014, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau hosted a group of students of the Law faculty from Tbilisi Humanitarian University. 

The first and second year students had an opportunity to visit the Forensic Criminalistics Department. The experts of the Department presented their daily work to students in an interactive manner while students received comprehensive answers to their questions.

On March 19, 2014, Head of the Transport Technical-Trace Evidence, Radiation and Fire Examination Unit of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, Davit Gvelesiani and expert of the same unit Zakaria Tetradze visited Vilnius, Lithuania. 

On 20-21 March, a Working Group meeting on Auto-Accidents will be held at the Forensics Center of Lithuania. 
The meeting is held within the framework of the Monopoly Program initiated and Financed by the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) and EU. 

Armenian delegation trained at the Bureau

LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau hosted a delegation representing Forensic Institution of Armenia. Within the framework signed between the National Forensic Bureau and the Armenian representatives in 2013, the delegation participated in the training session at the Bureau. 

Head of the Forensic Biology Department, Nino Kochiashvili awarded certificates to the participants after they completed a two week long training at the Bureau. 
Members of the delegation Andranik Manvelian, Arpine Navasardian and Ana Hokhanisian learned specifics of forensic DNA examination. The training addressed following topics:
