Summarizing event of the Support Programme for Families of Missing Persons

On December 15, 2016, Representatives of LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau, Head of the Forensic Biology Department, Nino Kochiashvili and Head of the Forensic Medicine, Nino Kikabidze, participated in the event organized by International Committee of Red Cross. 

Representatives of agencies participating in Supportive Programme for Families of Missing Persons took part in the summarizing event that was organized at the Hotel Holiday Inn. The participants discussed key matters of the programme, including but not limited to strengthening the family networks of missing people, supporting families in grave moments, awareness raising and others. 

Success Achieved in International Testing

In November 2016, Substances, Material, Products and Plants Examination Unit of the Department of Forensic Chemical-Narcology of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau participated in the SPL proficiency test.  

Within the framework of the test, experts of Substances, Material, Products and Plants Examination Unit examined Ferro-Silico-Manganese sample defining mass share of Magnesium (Mn), Carbon (c) and Sulphur (S).
21 Labs across the world participated in the test, results of which were statistically evaluated by SPL and published in the final report. 

Experts of the Bureau shared experience with Armenian Colleagues

On November 28-8 December, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau hosted a delegation from the National Forensics Bureau of Armenia. Experts of the Forensic Medicine and Forensic Criminology shared experience with their visiting colleagues. During ten days, the delegation had an opportunity to get acquainted with specifics of work, novelties introduced in the Labs of the Bureau and other innovations.

On December 1, 2016, Head of the Forensic Biology Department, Nino Kochiashvili, participated in the event organized by Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University. The event aimed at supporting development of bio-science and bio-technology fields, deepening cooperation between the University and the Industry, and implementing innovative educational programmes to train highly qualified specialists, including in the directions of food, healthcare, environment and agro-bio-technologies.
