
LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau moves to an emergency mode of operation due to Covide-19 pandemic.
Due to declaration coronavirus outbreak as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization and in accordance with the recommendations made public by the Government of Georgia, from 1 April 2020 National Forensic Bureau will provide alcohol test only by blood analysis.
Citizens can take blood sample for alcohol test at following clinics:

It is also important that within the special measures the Narcology Unit of the Bureau terminates 24-hour service until 1 April 2020 and working hours shall be Monday-Friday from 09.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Except in extreme cases, any consultations regarding the services of the Bureau shall be provided remotely from 1 April 2020.
The main criterion for statistical evaluation of the professional testing - Z-score has demonstrated that the Unit of Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology successfully participated in the test this time, too, and received the highest score Z-score=0.2 from EDQM, STRASBOURG.
The Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology Unit at the Department of Chemical and Narcological Examination of National Forensic Bureau has been participating in proficiency tests (ENFSI, UNODC) since 2010 on annual basis and has constantly occupied leading positions. According to the data of the current year, as well as the results of tests conducted across Europe, statistical evaluation of the results of the analysis show that the National Forensic Bureau is among leading laboratories. The obtained results indicate high qualification of the Bureau experts, application of valid methods and compliance to international standards.
