In October 2019, Oil Products Examination Unit at the Department of Chemical and Narcological Examination, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau participated in proficiency testing.

The testing was organized by the Institute for Interlaboratory Studies, Netherlands, which is an independent organization providing various types of interlaboratory studies (qualification tests, cross-examination, joint control) for analytical laboratories in more than 100 participating countries.

The Institute for Interlaboratory Studies (IIS) provided an unknown sample of gasoline fuel which should be identified with 6 parameters according to the indicated standards: appearance, corrosive activity, density, fractional composition, actual resin content, sulfur content.

These parameters are accredited in accordance with the standard ISO 17025: 2010. Results of statistical processing of obtained actual values ​​were announced in January 2020. The submitted assessments has demonstrated that the Oil Products Examination Laboratory at the Bureau received the highest grade and certificate of excellence, which confirms the compliance of the latest research methods introduced in the Bureau with international standards and high qualification of experts.

Oil Products Examination Unit participates in international interlaboratory tests on regular basis. With its results the Bureau maintains leading positions among other forensic institutions.
