
In November 2019, Food, Tobacco, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Examination Unit at LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, participated in the proficiency testing. The testing was organized by EUROFINS. 127 laboratories participated in the testing process. The purpose of the testing was to determine the qualitative and quantitative content of foodborne pathogens. In particular, three samples were tested on four microbiological indicators.
Test results were announced in December 2019. As the assessment demonstrated, types and quantitative content of microorganisms were accurately determined by experts of the Food Examination Unit. All the results sent from the Bureau were complete.
With this outcome, Food Examination Unit confirmed the high accuracy and trustworthiness of its results and that it occupies its rightful place among leading European laboratories. This is an indicator of qualification of the Bureau’s experts, and validity of methods and compliance of tools and equipment with international standards.
