LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau identified 22 more bodies of militaries fighting for the territorial integrity of Georgia and heroically deceased in Abkhazia. The burial ceremony of Georgian militaries shall be conducted on 26 th of April, 2018 at the Brotherhood cemetery.The identification process has been launched since September 2013 with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia.
Up to now, the remains of 325 missing people were collected, with 148 bodies identified by the efforts of Forensic Biology and Medical Examination Department examiners of the Bureau.
