ImageChemical-Toxicological Unit of the Chemical-Narcotics Department of the Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau participated in the qualification test organized by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Healthcare (EDQM), in Strasbourg.
In the beginning of 2016, Forensic National Bureau received “Melissa leaf dry extract” samples from Strasbourg. The test required quantitative assessment of the Rosemarie acid –used in pharmaceutics-in the provided sample. The Bureau was also requested to provide detailed report on applied methodology and statics of the results.  117 labs throughout Europe participated in the testing and only 111 of them submitted test results.
The Bureau received extended report which in details described final results of participating laboratories. The report evaluated both received results and applied methodology. By gaining Z-score<2, the Chemical-Toxicological Unit maintained its leading position and its participation was assessed by category 1.
