ImageIn November 2015, Food and Tobacco Products, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Examination Unit of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau participated in a qualification test organized by the support of Georgian and Swedish National Food Agencies. 
Line experts of the Bureau examined three different types of food products.  Vials, which contained lyophilized microbial mixture were used for the test material. Experts of the Bureau identified nine different microbiological indicators and defined quantity of bacteria in the sample. 
27 labs of Georgia participated in the given interlaboratory test. The submitted results were compared to those received from more than 200 labs across the world, which were further statistically evaluated and presented in the final report. 
It was a fourth such test for the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau and this time too, the Food Unit attested high accuracy of its results and maintained a leading position among leading labs of Europe. 
Food and Tobacco Products, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Examination Unit of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau is accredited by ISO 17025 and operates in line with international standards.
