On April 16, 2015, Governing Council of the European Network of Forensic Institutions (ENFSI) paid its first visit to Georgia. LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau welcomed the Council composed of the heads of the Forensic Institutions of Germany, Great Britain, France, Belgium, Slovakia and Estonia.
ENFSI is the most authoritative international organization in the forensic field and has been recognized as a monopolist of the field by the European Union since 2009. 62 forensic institutions of 35 European countries are members of ENFSI network. Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau became its full-fledged member in 2011.
Head of the Administration, Tamar Melashvili, met the members of the Council at the Department of Forensic Medicine. Current issues and future cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
The goal of ENFSI is to provide high quality forensic examinations through methods applied around the world. To achieve the goal, ENFSI regularly organizes scientific conferences, seminars, experts working groups and various committees. Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau is actively engaged in the work of ENFSI.
