ImageOn April 23, 2014, the 38th DNA Conference was opened in Georgia. The Conference is organized by Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau and the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI). It is the first time for Georgia to hosts such high level conference of the field. The Conference is attended by 120 representatives of forensics institutions from across the world. 
Head of the Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, Giorgi Tvauri opened the Conference at which the participants discussed the latest achievements in the DNA field. Presentations mainly focused the Forensic Biology field. 
European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) is the most authoritative and credible organization in the forensic domain. It unites 65 forensics institutions of 35 countries across Europe. 
DNA Laboratory of the National Forensics Bureau became a member of ENFSI DNA Working Group in 2007, while in 2011, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau is a full-fledged member of ENSI. 
International DNA Conference is held annually in different countries and aims at improving DNA examinations in its member laboratories, elaborating corresponding recommendations and sharing latest scientific achievements. 
The Working Group shares with interesting criminal cases, which was resolved with significant contributions of the DNA examination results. 
Participants get acquainted with latest methods in the field of DNA examinations during the Conference. On the sidelines of the Conference, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and European DNA Profiling Group (EDNAP) will hold a separate meeting. 
Manufacturing companies of DNA field participate in the conference, who will exhibit the latest technological advancements. 
DNA International Conference in Georgia is a significant event with respect to both, the expert and medical purposes. At the same time, the Conference contributes to the popularization of the country.
