In April, 2014, LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau has acquired a Ballistic Examination Complex – DRELLO. The equipment is used to test firearms and ammunition and identify their indicators/characteristics.
The equipment will provide an opportunity to examine and test faulty weapons from distance by a remote control panel and secure the safety of experts.
At the same time, the equipment makes it possible to conduct a thorough examination of the ammunitions, including the evaluation of the bullet speed.
The equipment is combined by separate high technological components.
Experts of the Bureau are correspondingly trained in utilization of the equipment. The training is delivered by German expert Uve Frank. Following the successful completion of the training, the experts will be accordingly certified.
